What’s your favourite food?
Hardest question ever! I don’t think I have a favourite but my go to food is always roast vegetables 😊
If you could give one piece of nutritional wisdom to the Australian public, what would it be?
Educate yourself as much as possible but don’t make it stressful. Its important to take ownership of your own health and know what you’re consuming and what it does, but this knowledge can become stressful and even more detrimental to your health if you let it consume you. Make the best honest choices wherever you can and accept that it’s a process.
If you could spend the day with one celebrity, who would it be & why?
I’m going to say a comedian. I could really do with a whole light hearted day of just laughing for no reason and not taking life so seriously. I’ll nominate Kevin Hart.
What's your favourite colour?
What's your favourite way to work out when you are not training?
I sadly never actually spend time doing workouts outside of training that I love. I really enjoy a recreational game of tennis or volleyball but end up spending too much time in the gym.
Can you share with us a motivational quote that really resonates with you?
I try to live by the principle of understanding what I can and can’t control and only giving power to what I can control.
Some days as an athlete must be tougher than others. What gets you through the tough days?
Ultimately, I always come back to the fact that I am in control of my choices and I choose to be an athlete, the good and the bad. Because it was my choice and I love what I do I am willing to fight, struggle and take those hits for the way that it makes me feel afterwards. Hurt for a moment to feel good all day!
What does relaxing look like in your down-time?
Not sure what relaxing is haha. I love to be at home and just enjoy time with my husband and my dog. If it’s outside than that’s even better. If I can get into a good TV series and spend the day at home binge watching it then I am in heaven. It never happens though.
Who is the person who has inspired you most to do what you do?
Probably my mum. She encouraged me to really be my own person and do what makes me happy. She never put any pressure on me to do anything other than be a good person and listen to my gut, so that’s all I’ve ever lived by.
