7 EASY TIPS TO GET BACK ON TRACK

7 EASY TIPS TO GET BACK ON TRACK

The holiday season can be a tough time to stay on track with your health and fitness goals. Whether you fell head first off the healthy eating bandwagon into a bucket of tiramisu and egg nog or even if you just went a little too hard on the Paleo treats this festive season we have some great tips to help you get yourself back on track to wellness in the new year.

Tip 1
Find something that motivates you to have structure.
Having something like a plan/whole 30 challenge/healthy cooking workshop/nourishing Cook book/ workout plan etc can help give you some structure again. Often the reason we get off track in the holiday season is because our habits & routine go out the window. Re-creating some healthy habits again can help restore our wellness. Try some meal prepping, plan your workouts, get a PT, menu planning or get along to a motivating workshop to get you started. The little things will quickly add up to become big things.

Tip 2
Find a person to be accountable to.
Most of us can easily let ourselves down by fobbing off a gym session, meal prep etc without too much guilt or consequence. On the other hand, when accountable to someone else, we are far less likely to be so flippant. Find a person that you can train with, walk in your lunch break with, meal prep with or even just report to about these things. This could be a friend, partner, work colleague, personal trainer or even just pop it out there on your social media for some accountability.

Tip 3.
Be prepared.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. If you don’t lay out your gym clothes the night before for your 5.30am wake up you are less likely to get ready and out the door on time. If you don’t make sure you pack yourself a nourishing lunch for work, you’ll be far more likely to hit the vending machine when you are feeling hungry. Take the time to be organised and you will be setting yourself up for success.

Tip 4.
Just do 5 minutes.
This relates to both meal prep and exercise. Even when you don’t feel like it, just doing 5 minutes can create the motivation to continue. Get to the gym and make a deal with yourself to do 5 minutes, if you still aren’t feeling it after that, go home. 99% of the time you will carry on. Same goes for prepping food.

Tip 5.
Just Eat Real Food.
It’s not that hard. Try and avoid crappy packaged foods and processed sugars. Focus on filling each meal with lots of veggies or salad, some good healthy fats & a portion of protein. Our Paleo Hero products contain 100% natural ingredients designed to keep you nourished and satiated. If you need some motivation check out some of our fave recipes on this BLOG

Tip 6.
Be Kind to Yourself.
You will not spontaneously combust if you miss a day at the gym or have a meal that’s not perfect. Don’t let that derail your progress or your plans. Take a deep breath, start again and don’t beat yourself up. You didn’t kill anyone, you just skipped a spin class.

Tip 7.
Start. Now.
Today. Now. It’s doesn’t need to be a Monday, or the 1st of the month. When you are ready to start and the motivation strikes you, start. Right then. Create some momentum straight away. Now is as good a time as any.
