A Small Family Business Doing Things Our Way Since 2012
Paleo Hero started back in 2012 in the kitchen of our family home in Brisbane.
My wife Cathie and I began making our products in our home kitchen and packing everything in our lounge room. It was a pretty simple setup, but we had a clear idea of what we wanted to achieve.
We wanted to make great-tasting food using quality, natural ingredients, without all the unnecessary extras you find in so many commercially manufactured products.
At the time, Paleo was relatively new to Australia, and finding convenient food that aligned with its principles wasn't easy.
We saw an opportunity to change that.
And that's how Paleo Hero began.
From Our Home Kitchen to Our Brisbane Facility
A lot has changed since those early days.
What started in our home kitchen has grown into an established Australian food business, supplying customers, retailers and distributors across the country.
But one of the things we're most proud of is what hasn't changed.
We still hand-make and hand-pack our products every day.
Our team continues to produce our range in small batches at our Morningside facility in Brisbane.
We plan our production around customer demand and regularly make additional batches throughout the week to fulfil orders.
We don't manufacture large quantities of finished products just to have them sitting around in storage.
Why?
Because freshness matters to us.
We believe the fresher the product, the better the experience for our customers.
It's a more hands-on way of running a food business, but it's how we've always done things, and we have no intention of changing that.
Good Food Doesn't Need to Be Complicated
Our philosophy has always been pretty simple.
Use quality ingredients, keep processing to a minimum, leave out the unnecessary additives and make food that people genuinely enjoy eating.
Because there's not much point making something that's good for you if it doesn't taste great.
From our Primal Muesli and Granola through to our baking mixes and snacks, everything we make reflects those same principles.
We put a lot of thought into our ingredients and recipes, and we take pride in the products that leave our kitchen.
We let our food do the talking.
Paleo Is Where We Started, Not Where We Stop
When we started Paleo Hero, we were part of a growing community of people interested in the Paleo and Primal approach to eating and living.
That philosophy made sense to us.
Eat real food. Stay active. Look after yourself. Enjoy life.
But we've never believed healthy living should be about following a strict set of rules.
Everyone is different, and what works for one person might not work for another.
Over the years, we've seen more and more people looking for the same things we value: good food, quality ingredients, less unnecessary processing and products they can feel confident buying.
And that's something we welcome.
You don't need to follow a Paleo diet to enjoy Paleo Hero.
You just need to appreciate really good food.
Still a Small Business at Heart
After more than a decade in business, Cathie and I are still proud of what we've built.
We're a family-owned Australian manufacturer, and the personal approach we started with remains a big part of who we are.
We know there are easier ways to manufacture food on a large scale.
But we believe there's something special about making products by hand, keeping them fresh and knowing exactly what goes into them.
That's what we've always wanted Paleo Hero to be.
Great-tasting food, made with care, using ingredients we believe in.
