A Day On My Plate with Dani Byrnes

Model, pilates teacher and 1 half of the dynamic duo behind the brand Minding Her Business, Dani Byrnes is a total boss lady that we are thrilled to have onboard to share with us her day on her plate.

o Tell us a bit about you?

I am originally from the Blue Mountains and moved to the Gold Coast almost 9 years ago! Work & fitness rule my life! (but I secretly LOVE it!)

I enjoy being busy and I am always on my toes, juggling business projects, taking on new fitness challenges and keeping my Vizsla, Max active. My theory is, the busier I am the more productive – so it work for me! I work as a Pilates teacher, a fitness & lifestyle model and also run an events company with my business partner called Minding Her Business. We run fun networking events for women in business, and the business has become a full-time job for us in the past few months. Busy times! My partner Tim is away often as he is a driver in the Supercars, which is perfect in the sense that I can get a lot done while he is away, so I can free up time to enjoy each others company when he is home.

o Do you have a morning ritual or habit? What does that look like?

Every morning is literally different for me – but I always start with breakfast! I go to bed dreaming of it, is that normal?! Breakfast most of the time is a banana protein smoothie-bowl topped with a mix of Paleo Hero Primal Choc Granola and Primal Muesli! This is my go-to breakfast because it is delicious, nutritious and takes literally 3 minutes to prep!

Three days a week I am up between 4am – 5am to get ready for work teaching reformer at KX Pilates. Every Wednesday morning at 5:30am I train with my running squad called #AdsysAthletes. Our coach Adam is also my personal motivator/coach for the upcoming Gold Coast Half Marathon, of which I am the ambassador for! Pressure much?! I have lots of KM’s to run over the next three months in the lead up!

On the rare morning where I am not working, I enjoy a sleep in (until 6am!) and would normally walk Max at the local dog park, grab a coffee and go to the gym mid-morning.

o What you eat on an average day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and any snacks?

On an average day, if I haven’t had a Primal Muesli topped smoothie-bowl for breakfast, it will normally be on the lunch menu for me! And admittedly, I have had these for dinner on the odd occasion! I also love anything eggs + avo and could happily live on a staple diet of all of these foods forever! Now that we have a Rocket coffee machine at home, my partner Tim enjoys making endless double-shot lattes for us - score!. I always try to include some form of daily exercise, if I am not running and training for the Gold Coast Half Marathon, I try to get to a Pilates class at work (KX Pilates), a boxfit class or go do a strength session at the gym. Some days are just so flat out and I cannot do any of these things, so a walk with my dog is at least some movement and fresh air.
