Did someone say 8 minute workout?! Sign us up! We are all about bang for your buck when it comes to training and some days, 8 minutes is all you have. The Health & Fitness Guy is going to show us how to get maximum results in minimum time with this whole body workout that you can do anywhere.
The concept of 'Tabata' was first introduced by Dr Izumi Tabata in 1996 in an attempt to find a more time-efficient form of exercising over the old ‘running around the block’. His study indicated that four minute, high intensity interval training (HIIT) session triggered similar benefits in aerobic conditioning, as well as a 28% increase in anaerobic capacity (our ability to train at high intensity with minimal oxygen supply, when compared to a 60 minute run). How good is that!
You will need a Tabata timer if you are not going to follow along on the video (you can download a free Tabata timer app for your phone).
Watch the video below for an explanation of the exercises and how you can adapt them to your level then you are ready to train!
