INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup Primal Porridge Mix
- 1 cup hot water or almond milk
- 1 apple, diced
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp local honey
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- Pinch of salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
For the porridge:
In a saucepan, combine Primal Porridge Mix with hot water/milk
Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally
Cook for 3-5 minutes until desired consistency
Add a pinch of salt to enhance flavors
For the stewed apples:
In a small pan, combine diced apple with a splash of water
Add 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Cook on medium heat for 5 minutes until soft but not mushy
For the toasted pecans:
Dry toast pecans in a pan until fragrant
Roughly chop when cooled
Assembly:
- Pour warm porridge into a bowl
- Top with stewed cinnamon apples
- Sprinkle with toasted pecans
- Add remaining cinnamon and ground ginger
- Drizzle with honey and almond butter
TIPS:
For creamier porridge, use warm almond milk instead of water
Make extra stewed apples to store in the fridge for the week
Adjust sweetness by varying honey amount
Can be made the night before and reheated
