This anti-inflammatory smoothie bowl is packed with goodness without all the added sugar. Did you know that most store-bought smoothie bowls contain over 40g of sugar! This bowl uses mangoes that have been fermented to reduce their natural sugars, MCT oil and unsweetened coconut yoghurt for healthy fats, collagen powder for protein as well as gut, hair, skin, nail and joint support. We added turmeric for its potent anti-inflammatory properties and the addition of black pepper helps to make the curcumin over 200 times more bio-available.
Things you Need
- 1 cup fermented frozen mangoes (*see below for instructions on how to ferment mangoes, or just us regular frozen mangoes)
- 1/2 cup frozen cooked cauliflower
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- pinch black pepper
- 2 tbs MCT Oil (optional)
- 2 tbs collagen powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup natural unsweetened coconut yoghurt (we used Pure N Free)
- Paleo Hero Muesli to top
Method
Add the mango, cauliflower, turmeric, yoghurt, MCT oil, pepper & collagen to your food processor or high speed blender and blend until smooth. You can add a dash of milk or water if you need to.
Transfer to a bowl and top with all your fave toppings.
**To ferment your mangoes (or any fruit) just add your peeled and chopped mango to a glass jar, add enough water kefir to cover completely, pop the lid on and allow to ferment on the bench for 24-48 hrs. Once ready, strain off the kefir (you can drink this or use it to ferment some more fruit) then pop your mangoes into the freezer ready to add to your smoothie bowl. The longer you ferment your fruit, the more the sugar content of the fruit will be reduced.
