As the weather cools down, we heat up the kitchen with all of our favourite winter warmers. This adaptation of a delicious apple crumble will keep your belly full and content without blowing out the waistline. Regardless of your lifestyle, this paleo, gluten free, dairy free, healthy recipe is sure to please the masses. Plus, it's nutrient-dense enough to have for breakfast so that's all the convincing we need. Feel free to swap the pears out for other fruit, like apples or peaches.
Things you Need
- 4 pears, roughly diced
- 1 1/2 cups berries, frozen or fresh
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup coconut cream
- 2 cups Paleo Hero Muesli (you can use other muesli or oats/nuts and seeds)
- 1 cup almond meal
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbs butter/ghee/coconut oil/MCT oil
Method
Preheat your oven to 180C
Add all of your filling ingredients to a bowl and mix well to combine
Pour filling ingredients into a baking dish and set aside
Add topping ingredients, except butter, to a bowl and mix well
Add your butter in small knobs then use your fingers to rub the butter through the rest of the ingredients until it is broken up and combined
Pour topping over the filling in the baking dish, ensuring a thin layer across the top
Bake for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown on top
