One of the things we missed most when we started the paleo diet was toast! Something to dunk into warm soup, load up with smashed avocado or mop up that perfect poached egg yolk. We tried all the alternatives, the cauliflower 'toast', the sweet potato 'toast', even the mushroom 'bun' *insert crying face emoji. Nothing was even in the same realm so we created our own paleo bread mix and not to toot our own horn, but we think we nailed it. It holds up in a sandwich, it toasts, it even makes you coffee... actually that's a lie but if it did we'd probably marry it.
We also love topping our Paleo Bread with all the fun stuff. Here's some inspo if you love a good topping!
EPIC PALEO TOAST TOPPINGS:
Smashed Avo with hemp seeds and dulse flakes. We love dulse flakes because they're a great source of healthy fats, omega 3's, trace minerals and iodine.
Strawberries and Cream! Aka dairy free coconut yoghurt and sliced strawberries. We love the Pure N Free Natural Coconut Milk Yoghurt.
PB & Jelly. That's right, we love natural almond butter or peanut butter and raspberry chia jam.
(To make the jam take 1/2 cup berries, blend or mash until smooth and stir through 2 tbs chia seeds. Let sit for 15 minutes then enjoy.)
Sardines, Cashew Parmesan & Micro Greens. Sardines are a great source of calcium and omega 3's. We used the Cashew Parmesan from Pimp My Salad.
